this illustration was inspired by films like "wanted", or "the matrix", and features rendered elements done with 3d softfware, like the bullet.

most of the work was dedicated to "putrefy" the girl´s skin, and to detail the background texture.

the innocence of the posture and the penetrating gaze makes her even more terrifying ...

as hajime sorayama is my favourite pin up illustrator, i wanted to pay tribute to his amazing job with this robotic girl.

some metallic details, like the plug and the screws, were modelled and rendered with 3d software, and included into the final illustration.

the funniest part of the job is the detailing process (the face, lips, hair, boots ...). in this case, the tattoo pattern was added in the last moment. i think that it provides a "wild and troublemaker" look to the girl.

originally painted for white wolf´s bloodlines III product, i modified the primary character and eliminated two background characters in order to make this image of a modern urban gothic heroine. i use 95% or more corel painter 9.5 for my digital work, on a mac dual 2.3 ghz power pc g5, with an intuos III 9 x 12 wacom tablet and stylus. while i always enjoy painting a beautiful woman, i especially enjoyed creating the dappled light effect for this.
