meinrad m. froschin ist ein kuenstler, dessen bildinhalte surreal, real oder irreal (im sinne optischer taeuschungen) sein koennen. seine kunst versteht es, den betrachter durch die fotorealistische machart, reduktion auf das noetigste und ueberspitzte praesenz ohne schmueckendes beiwerk immer wieder zu verblueffen, zu faszienieren und somit in ihren bann zu ziehen. sein spiel mit raum/real und „nicht-raum“/irreal, sein feinsinniges gespuer fuer farbe und seine schon instinktive gabe zur reduktion (was kann weggelassen werden ohne die fotorealistische wirkung zu beeintraechtigen) machen ihn so einzigartig in der kunstszene.

getrieben, besessen von bildern in seinem kopf muss er phasenweise ohne unterbrechung an seinen werken/zyklen arbeiten, ohne ruecksicht auf seine person und gesundheit. auch wenn seine bilder scheinbar keinen interpretationsspielraum lassen, weil sie fotorealistischer machart sind, liegt gerade darin die schier unendliche freiheit seiner kunst.

die momentaufnahmen, die der kuenstler darstellt, machen dem betrachter die dinge deutlich sichtbar, die fuer ihn in der alltaeglichen welt scheinbar banal geworden sind. wer sich auf diese kunst einlaesst, wird immer wieder neue aspekte sehen, obwohl das bild so unerbittlich real zu sein scheint, wie der nagel, an dem es befestigt ist. man muss sich meinrad m. froschin’s kunst erarbeiten, ueber die erste verblueffungsphase hinweg steigen und das bild auf sich wirken lassen.

da seine bildinhalte meist in zyklen entstehen, sind ganze serien als sammelobjekte so reizvoll. ein zyklus kann in seiner gesamtheit viel dominanter auf den betrachter einwirken, allerdings traegt ein einzelnes bild aus einer serie schon die gesamte information, aehnlich der dann in jeder zelle eines koerpers.

andreas veith biografie

andreas veith interessierte sich schon in frueher jugend fuer kunst und malerei. seine ersten eigenen versuche fanden recht schnell beliebtheit im bekanntenkreis.

nach einigen experimenten mit kohle, buntstift, aquarell und oelfarben hielt er dann mit 13 Jahren seine erste airbrush-pistole in der hand. sie wurde zu einem unverzichtbaren hilfsmittel seiner acryl-mischtechnik und praegt noch heute seinen stil. zu dieser zeit befasste er sich intensiv mit arbeiten der alten meister.

aber auch neuzeitlicher kunstgroessen wie gerhard richter oder gottfried helnwein weckten sein interesse, um sein auge fuer perspektive, bildaufbau und farbgebung zu schulen. ueber dali und magritte lernte er dann das universum des surrealen kennen, was ihn bis heute nicht losgelassen hat. "phantastischer realismus trifft es wohl am besten" stellt andreas veith fest.

die leinwand ist der bevorzugte malgrund von andreas veith, er arbeitet aber auch auf speziellem airbrushkarton. dies ermoeglicht ihm das anwenden von verschiedenen radierern, um farbe vom untergrund zu entfernen und so das weiss des kartons zu nutzen. beim arbeiten mit leinwand ist eine andere vorgehensweise erforderlich, hier benutzt andreas veith deckweiss fuer die lichter. andreas veith arbeitet mit opaken farben auf acrylbasis. ansonsten kommen auch buntstifte, kreide und aquarellfarben zu einsatz.

i believe that art is about communication and i have been actively "communicating" through my art since the age of four. for me, my art in whatever medium has always been my most effective means of communicating the inspirations and observations i believe worthy of commentary.

sandi baker biografie

sandi baker has been creating art with an airbrush for over twenty years.

completely self taught, the artist prefers to work freehand using acrylics on handmade panels. she enjoys painting a variety of subjects but always strives to send a message within the art - usually concerning wildlife preservation, the beliefs of her native american ancestors, and modern women´s issues.

sandi began her artistic path early in life, out on her own and freelancing by age 16. by the age of nineteen sandi opened her own sign company and ran it for 13 successful years creating vast amounts of unique artistic signs and glasswork.

teaching herself along the way she became very skilled in freehand lettering, glass etching, gilding, pinstriping, and airbrushing automotive and sign murals. throughout these years she still painted her personal fine art works with the airbrush and found her work to be popular with collectors.

soon after closing the sign company to concentrate solely on her fine art she met and married fellow artist j w baker. they created WOLF SONG STUDIO in 2005 and continue to work together creating fine art that is sold to collectors and licensed to product manufacturers.

dennis mathewson has been airbrushing and custom painting for over thirty-five years, truly one of the pioneers in the airbrush industry. starting out in the 70´s at karl smith´s rat´s hole in las vegas and daytona beach, fl. dennis has owned and operated cosmic airbrush in honolulu www.cosmicairbrush.com a busy airbrush and custom painting shop since the early 80´s.

when dennis isn´t at his shop in hawaii, he is traveling scross the u.s., europe, scandinavia and asia instructing airbrush and custom painting clinics, appearing at car, bike and gallery shows worlswide.

having appeared on television, newspapers and a multitude of magazines around the world, he currently writes feature articles and informational step-by-step articles in many magazines in th united states as well as in europe. dennis works in a variety of art mediums from gold leafing, lettering and pin striping to custom finishes, murals and fine art.

known for the vibrant use of color in his artwork, dennis created his own signature line of paints in vibrant colors calles, hawaiian hues, they are manufactured by the alsa corp. he also has a template line on the market manufactured by artool.

he is also a master custom painting an airbrush instructor. as an avid wood carver, he tries to make for one of his true passions at carving an occasional tiki. mathewson´s fine art line has grown to a catalog of over 100 originals taking up most of his time and is now in limited edition prints on canvas as well as metal.

they are currently displayed in the diamond head gallery in lahaina, maui and the thor gallery (waikiki) in honolulu, hawaii.

the focus of his work are formula one cars of the 1950s. movement is very important in his artwork, so he will never paint a static car. airbrush is a very important tool in creating the sense of movement in his work.

with the airbrush, the line is not so definite, which is perfect for rendering blurry and hard lines. for example, by making the spokes of a wheel blurry, you get a sense of movement. another effective technique alberto ponno uses for conveying movement in every painting is the dust or powder of the road generated by the wheels. this leads to the most pressing and intriguing of wonders concerning alberto ponno´s work.

the only aid alberto ponno uses is an opaque projector. he airbrushes the critical areas and scale over the projected image. most of his paintings are in color and his references are generally "black and white" photos and because many of his references do not show complete information, alberto ponno researches books for complete detail accuracy.

although it is easier to paint on paper, metal remains alberto ponno´s surface of choice. the effect he likes to achieve, translates better on aluminium. metal is more difficult because you must be much more precise and also because mistakes show up easier. metal is smooth that the quality of the work is more dramatic and pronounced.
