urethane on metal panel, with gold leaf edging

i´ve always been a fan of ancient egyptian art. when i saw the king tut exhibit in los angeles when i was a child, it inspired me for life! i always wanted to create a photo-real painting of the famous king tut death mask. i used house of kolor urethanes to achieve the subtle gold hues. pagan gold candy was used to create the gold color. i used real gold leaf on the edge of the painting and wrote the hieroglyphs with a brush. then the painting was clear coated. people that see this painting think it´s a photo. most don´t believe it´s a painting at first.
